IT News You Can Use June 5

Did You Know?

  • As OTDI continues to streamline and enhance IT services at the university, they are working to improve the university Wi-Fi experience over the next couple of years by moving to the eduroam network and device-based authentication. At the same time, osuwireless will be phased out with a targeted retirement date of Summer 2024. One major benefit of this new authentication method for eduroam is that faculty, staff, and students will not have to reconfigure their Wi-Fi settings when they update their Ohio State password semi-annually. Because authentication is device-based, once connected to eduroam, the connection will remain available for the life of the device – no password required.
