Software

For these virtual times, if you do not see the software you need, please visit vendor sites for trials or education versions. If a network connection is required, please download Pulse VPN. A number of vendors are allowing software on personal computers. In addition, we are letting CoE remote access to CoE adademic computing labs. See https://labstatus.coeit.osu.edu/ for available computers. More virtual information is available at https://wiki.engineering.osu.edu/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=24019788. If you need assistance, please send an email to etshelp@osu.edu.

Site-Licensed Software

Both the university and colleges obtain/share site licenses for popular software applications and in most cases, make it available to faculty, researchers, staff, and students across campus and sometimes at regional campuses. Some of the software applications may be put on personally-owned machines. Please see the table below for more information.

Academic Computing Labs Software

Software applications in the Academic Computing labs vary across units depending on what software is used in classes. Unit-specific software applications typically require Computer Committee approval.

To see software in academic computer labs, first use Pulse VPN, then in a browser go to https://labstatus.coeit.osu.edu/, select the unit or room and select the computer name. To remote into the computer from a windows computer, select the IP address in the rightmost column and open it. For detailed instructions, see How to Access Engineering Computer Lab Systems Remotely.

Many of the lab images include a number of utilities. Please check the department of interest for details regarding their software.

Couldn't find the software that you wanted? Please contact eng-software@osu.edu.
