Did You Know?

Did you know there is significant lead time to navigate signing of terms and conditions for new software by purchasing?  In addition, all new software must go through an accessibility assessment, which includes collecting relevant info from the vendor, and often, full testing of the application which takes around 4 months right now (see below if you want to help with the evaluation).  All cloud based applications require a security assessment as well which again requires vendor cooperation.  Even free applications must undergo these assessments.  Please be aware of this requirement when planning for future software needs, to allow appropriate lead time.

ETS is already making preparations for the Autumn 2023 semester and having a defined list of software needed on Citrix and in the labs will be extremely important given the steps mentioned above.  It is never too early to start thinking about your software needs for next year so you are ready when we come calling!
