Popular Engineering Software and Availability
The University and the College of Engineering Technology Services (ETS) offers a variety of software applications and multiple methods for accessing (downloading, virtual access, or remote login) available to students, faculty, researchers, and staff. A list of these resources can be viewed by clicking here.
Additional university site-licensed software can be found at, https://ocio.osu.edu/software. The Microsoft suite of applications, including Teams is available at https://office365.osu.edu/.
College of Engineering Labs
Software applications in the College of Engineering labs vary across majors. Click here to see a list of software available in different labs. You may access these resources in-person, remotely, or virtually.
In-person Access

Remote Access
To view software in the College of Engineering labs:
- Connect to Pulse VPN. Click here for instructions.
- After clicking, open a browser and go to https://labstatus.coeit.osu.edu/.
- Select the department or room and then select the computer name in the leftmost column to view software on a system.
- Select the IP address in the rightmost column to login to a system.

Virtual Access
The College of Engineering implemented Citrix to provide remote access to virtual desktops and applications without requiring a VPN connection. The “COE” desktop is the primary image available to all enrolled students with a majority of software (click here to see a list) installed needed to complete engineering curriculum. Installation instructions per device are listed below.
