Accounts and Access
The College of Engineering synchronizes all of its accounts with the University’s name.# account system, available at my.osu.edu. Your Engineering user account can be used to access: files, virtual & physical computing labs, printers, etc.
ETS provides support for creation and reset of CoE accounts, including administrative and lab access, and other requirements.
- Request Account Reset / Lockout
Account lockouts are a security feature to prevent unauthorized access to account resources. In the event of multiple failed login attempts an account will be temporarily disabled and ETS can help remedy this. - Request Administrative Access
Support and provisioning of administrative access to CoE systems in order to complete research or job functions. Per OSU policy, requests must be submitted outlining needs and justification. After a review and an approval process, accounts are created. - Request Lab Access
CoE has many labs, classrooms, and conference rooms where access may be restricted by course, major, or minor program affiliation. When requesting logon access, provide the following: academic program affiliation, faculty advisor or supervisor approval. - Request Employee Departure
Employee departure form filled out by HR generalist to notify of employee departure and for ETS to close accounts and recover equipment. - Request Employee Onboarding
ETS can assist with employee onboarding. Following HR generalist process initiation, use this to begin CoE account creation and equipment provisioning. - Request Sponsored Guest Account
Engineering Technology Services maintains a secure perimeter around the CoE Network to help keep you and your data safe. Remote access can be provided to internal and private CoE computer systems, servers, and storage via Pulse VPN.
- Request Remote Access
ETS can establish remote desktop via RDP, which allows an individual to control/use their computer as if they were sitting in front of the device over a secure network connection. Other remote access types falling under this service include SSH. - OSU Wireless Connectivity
ETS provides and maintains remotely accessible virtualized desktop and applications.
