College of Engineering Active Directory
During the last quarter of 2017 and the first half of 2018, the ETS organization completed the College of Engineering Active Directory (AD) consolidation project. Prior to this effort, there were 24 AD forests and domains, each with its own design and characteristics. These distinctions created obstacles to sharing information across the academic departments and research centers, and limited the ability of students to access computing resources from many locations. ETS Team members worked with stakeholders across the College to remove obstacles and prepare for the change. Departments and research center teams were migrated together for as much consistency as possible. With this project complete, there are no longer separate log ins for each unit, and students, faculty and staff can all collaborate more effectively.
