Did You Know?

ETS will have pilot systems for the Autumn 2022 academic labs available on Tuesday, July 26. Systems were selected based upon the software content (image) being applied and the type of hardware receiving each image. Faculty and student testing is greatly appreciated through Friday, July 29. Pilot system locations and how to identify them are provided in the docx icon AU22 Academic Lab Pilot document (requires authenticated access to One Drive). If you have feedback, please share it by end of business Friday, July 29 as lab imaging will be commencing on Monday, August 1.

You can join us on Tuesday, July 27 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. for a presentation from Student Life Disability Services (SLDS). This will be an introduction to SLDS, the various subunits housed within the department,  kinds of accommodations they provide and some best practices for implementing them in the classroom. The presentation will be held via Zoom and recorded. Check out Introduction to Student Life Disability Services for more information

Accessibility Tips and Tricks

How often do you think about color or color contrast, brightness, hue and saturation when creating online resources? Color selection is an important consideration in digital accessibility. Upcoming Work

  • On Wednesday, July 27 at 10:00 P.M., ETS will start the process that updates all COE Linux systems (ETS managed systems only).  Please ensure that any Linux systems you, or a group you manage uses, are powered on before July 27 to ensure they are updated and rebooted (kernel updates require reboots).  The process will take some time and will run overnight. We do not expect the update process to cause interruptions, but we recommend you save any open documents before 10:00 P.M. on July 27.

  • On Thursday, July 28 at 7:15 A.M, ETS will reboot all the ETS managed Linux systems. Please save your work and logoff before 7:15 A.M. on July 28 to avoid losing any unsaved work.

If you encounter any issues on your Linux system(s) after 9:00 A.M. on July 28, please contact ETS by one of the methods below.  In the ticket description, please note it's a Linux system, the hostname of the system, and its location (if known), and someone will assist you as soon as they are available.
